Origin Story
When I first got my resume done in Business School by a 2nd year Duke MBA student, I thought I knew what I was doing. However, after seeing the all the "red marks", I realized I didn't have a clue.
Fortunately, the woman who worked on my resume, cover letter, and interview preparation, helped me to get more Interviews than anyone else in my class of 300+, even though I was the youngest one to be accepted into Duke's MBA program.
It was then that I became aware of the fact that 'a resume is not a resume'.
After becoming a Career Fellow myself the following year, I achieved a100% placement rate for 'my clients' (1st Year Duke MBA Students).
A few years afterwards, I started Diamond Executive Resumes.
As I have grown in my executive career and business, I have been able to translate my process on a higher level to my customers and clients as well - helping them to achieve tremendous success.
Fast forward a number of years.
When I thought about joining a corporate Board, I worked on putting my own Board documents together. I first did them like everyone else, and obtained no corporate Board interviews.
When I reworked them and became my 'own client', I started getting corporate Board interviews and then helped my clients get on corporate Boards as well.
The same way there is usually a stark difference between someone who cuts their own hair vs. going to a hairdresser or barber, or doing their own nails vs. getting a professional manicure or pedicure, there is a noticeable difference in the level of quality between someone who does their own executive or Board resume, bio, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, etc. or a person chooses subpar or average options.
Most people understand that you don't just go to any hairdresser, barber, or manicurist.
You go to the ones that do a great job, make you look great (better than you could do on your own), and that you can trust.
Because most of us know that 'Quality Matters'.
In fact, 10-15% of my business every year is from redoing resumes and bios from those who initially chose to go another route.
I feel very fortunate that my customers and clients have trusted me all of these years.
I look forward to working with and meeting my new clients and customers everyday - helping them achieve their goals, have great success, and getting them to the next level - whatever that may be.
